Camberwell Rotary Sunday Markets

I went to the Camberwell markets on Sunday. The photo shows my haul from the excursion. I can’t believe I have been in Melbourne for over 2 years and it has taken me this long to get there. It felt like I was in vintage heaven.

For those of you not in Melbourne, it’s a trash and treasure market and that’s exactly what you will find plus everything in between. If you are after vintage and collectibles it’s the place to go apparently. All the goodies I bought were vintage - fabric, buttons, a beautiful tin and an embroidered tablecloth still in it’s packaging.

I went on my own which means I could browse to my hearts content and I didn’t need to worry about anyone else getting bored. There are around 350 stalls so it takes a while to get through them all especially if you want to go back and have a second look.

If Camberwell was close to home I would probably be there every Sunday but because it is a bit of a trek from my house I think I will have to be content with once a month. I can't wait until my next visit.

Aaaaaah Camberwell Market ! Used to go there most Sundays years ago, and get some really amazing bargains! Hear it has gone up in price now with stall fees something like $90 !! Anyone know if that is correct, It seems like to bizarre to be true !

I've lived in Melbourne on and off for all my life and I've never been. You've just convinced me that I MUST go :)

Love your beautiful finds!

I am KICKING myself for never getting to Camberwell Markets whilst I lived in Melbourne. Is it inappropriate to fly to Melbourne to go to a market? Hmmm.

I was at Camberwell market on Sunday too : ) I had my friends daughter with me so it was a bit of a game trying to push a stroller through the huge crowds, but we had lots of fun. I was very well behaved and only bought one piece of fabric. I wish I had bought the red buttons I'd seen though. Ah well, next time : )

I am not sure about the price of a stall but $90 sounds a bit steep!

I wonder if we walked past each other Shannon? I think the rule about red vintage buttons is that you can never have too many :)

I just thought of a good business to set up "Camberwell Market Weekend Getaways" for those of you living outside of Melbourne.
