I took an unexpected trip to WA last week to visit a sick relative who was seriously ill. Thankfully she is on the mend now and while I was there I managed to get a copy of the swimming pool cake recipe from from the Woman's Weekly Children's Birthday Cake Book. I might just make one for my next birthday.

You're right Shannon I don't really need to wait until my birthday...we will see. I still owe Evan a cake because I missed his birthday while I was away but he doesn't want the swimming pool.

Oh I remember that book! We still have it. Mum would never let me have it because we never managed to eat a whole cake and it would have got soggy.

I made this several times for my daughter as she was growing up..am now making one for her 40th this weekend,she still calls it her best birthday cake ever.
