New Brooch In The Works

I have taught myself blanket stitch ( which isn't easy when you are left handed because no one seems to want to produce left handed instructions or diagrams! ) and am busy practicing it for a brand new brooch that I am really excited about.

I was hoping to have some of the new heart brooches ready for the Yarraville markets this weekend but I am running out of time fast....we shall see how I go.

Left handers get a bum deal. The lack of left handed instructions also happens in crocheting and knitting. But we are also a resourceful lot! I use a mirror, held against the diagrams. It works okay.

Yes we do get a bum deal. I hate it when embroidery instructions say to use a mirror. It's not that easy!

Interestingly enough when mum tried to teach me knitting a while ago we decided it was easier for me to learn the right handed way and it wasn't really a problem. Won't work for embroidery though.
